1. General Conditions & User Responsibilities

1.1 Definitions & Agreement

“You”, “your”, or “user” means any natural or legal person who agrees to become a buyer/user on the Platform.

By using this Platform, you agree to all Terms below. Please read carefully before proceeding.

1.2 Key Policies Incorporated

These policies form part of your agreement:

  • Privacy Policy – Governs how we collect and process your personal data
  • Refund & Cancellation Policy – ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Limited replacement claims allowed only for damaged/incorrect items

1.3 Eligibility & Account Information

  • You must be 18+ years old and legally capable of entering contracts
  • You agree to provide true, accurate, and complete information during registration
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account

1.4 Usage Restrictions

You agree not to use the Platform for any unlawful, illegal, or forbidden purpose under Indian or applicable local laws.

2. Products, Pricing & Orders

2.1 Product Description

Handcrafted jewelry may vary in color/clarity from screen display. All weights/measurements are approximate. Products subject to availability.

2.2 Pricing & Payment

All prices in INR and may change without notice. Price at order placement is final. You must provide accurate payment info for third-party processors.

2.3 Custom Orders

Non-refundable deposit required before work begins. Custom orders are final once design is finalized and work starts — no cancellation or changes.

2.4 Errors

If a product is listed at incorrect price due to typo, we may cancel the order. If already paid, we’ll credit the incorrect amount to your account.

3. Shipping, Risk & Title

3.1 Shipping Terms – Costs, delivery times, and security requirements are in our separate Shipping Policy.

3.2 Risk of Loss – Risk and title pass to you once we deliver to the shipping carrier. We are not responsible for packages lost, damaged, or stolen after carrier confirms delivery to your address via tracking/signature.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

4.1 Ownership – All Platform content (design, graphics, text, logos, product photos) is proprietary to us. You get a limited, non-commercial, personal-use license only.

4.2 Custom Designs – Any custom jewelry design we create remains our IP. We retain rights to photograph/display the design unless agreed otherwise in writing.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

We do not guarantee accuracy, timeliness, completeness, or suitability of Platform information for any specific purpose. Information may contain errors. Use of Services is entirely at your own risk.

6. Limitation of Liability & Force Majeure

6.1 Liability Cap – We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages. Maximum liability = amount paid for the product OR ₹100, whichever is less.

6.2 Force Majeure – Neither party liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control: natural disaster, war, government actions, etc.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Umika's Collections, its affiliates, officers, and employees from any claims, demands, or penalties arising from:

  1. Your breach of these Terms or other Policies
  2. Your violation of any law or third-party rights, including IP rights

8. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

Font Size & “Beautify” Recommendations for Web

To make this actually readable on your site:

1. Typography

  • Body text: 16px–18px minimum. Legal text under 14px is painful to read and looks shady.
  • Line height: 1.6–1.8. Give it breathing room.
  • Font: Use a clean sans-serif like Inter, Lato, or Poppins. Avoid Times New Roman — it screams “I copy-pasted this”.
  • Paragraph spacing: 16px–24px between sections.

2. Hierarchy

  • H1: 32px, bold — “Terms and Conditions”
  • H2: 24px, bold — Section numbers like “1. General Conditions”
  • H3: 20px, semibold — Subsections like “1.1 Definitions”
  • Key terms: Use bold for “ALL SALES ARE FINAL”, “₹100”, “18+ years old”

3. Layout Tricks

  • Max width: Keep text column 65–75 characters wide. Full-width legal text is unreadable.
  • White space: Add 40px padding top/bottom between major sections.
  • Color: Dark gray #333 on white, not pure black. Softer on eyes.
  • Callouts: Put critical stuff like “ALL SALES ARE FINAL” in a light gray box with border.
  • Accordion: For very long T&C, use collapsible sections so users don’t face a scroll marathon.

4. Mobile

Base font 16px minimum. Bump line-height to 1.7. Increase tap targets for any links to 44px.
